If the game isn't done by this weekend, I'm probably going to throw in the towel. I've really enjoyed my time with it, but this war keeps prolonging the end of the game.

Yeah to be honest when my master plan fell to pieces there was a sense of relief that I didn't have to worry about winning anymore - the terrifying potential schemes and drillers emerging out of the abyss all subsided in my mind.

All I could do was influence the final standings, which I decided to do by ensuring the player who gutted my forces couldn't win (check, moral victory A secured) and then seeing if I could pick the eventual winner (Moral Victory B TBD).

Also, having bugger all stuff meant that there were really not all that many moves for me to consider, so I can imagine it's getting really draining on you and Andy right about now having to play a couple of days where stuff is going on all over the place.

I'm tempted to see how different the experience is playing with total strangers next time I give it a go, but that'll be after at least a month off and when I have a week with guaranteed wifi, and no plans because this game is hella time consuming.

I've already exceeded my expectations for how I'd do, and the fact that I can still potentially win at this late stage has really surprised me.

So, basically...

I've no plans Friday, so that works for me if it comes to it.
I'm also happy to start at 9, if everyone else is.
The only night I can't do is tomorrow, as I'm working until 10.

Would there be any chance we could do this on Saturday or Sunday instead? I've had something come up so won't be able to cast tomorrow.

Smashing, cheers Drunka. I'd have been able to make it but I've got a mate coming back to my hometown after being away for yonks, so we're meeting up tomorrow. I'm free from 7 every day bar Friday next week.

What up my subbers

Anyone up for another game of this at some point, with the option enabled that hides our usernames from other players so we can't see who is who?

Alternatively Blight of the Immortals has caught my eye as something people without powerful phones or tablets can play, but which scratches a similar itch.

It's a browser game where fantasy races which traditionally hate each other have to unite to fight the zombie horde. It's psuedo co-op because the players win if the zombie horde is eliminated. However, there is an individual winner as well which I think is the person who has slain the most zombs.

Like Subterfuge it works in real time but things take forever to do, so it's a login a few times a day deal. I'm guessing it's compatible with phone browsers but I don't know.

It's free to play but someone has to pay a fee to create a private game - I don't mind doing this - if people are up for it.

Just thought this could be a cool thing for 6 forumites to have a bash at when the time's convenient. A sort of online board game if you will.

There's actually a free steam early access version of this which is meant to be finished in a few months so I'll look into it again around then.
