I was searching for pictures of scorpions from the retro Final Fantasies I've played (and from the Bravely games, which are basically retro-style FFs themselves), and I couldn't find any! I did think I'd have a much tougher time this week than basically everyone else, since scorpions tend to crop up more in Western 'brown-grey' games it seems - that has been confirmed!

Scorpions don't really lend themselves to a more traditional high fantasy setting, so it's not all too surprising that you never found any in the pre-FFVII Final Fantasy games.

I was thinking with the ray trace star wars demo, if you combined that with serkis motion tech demo which their is a full body version, it would look brilliant. Just not sure you'd that for Stormtroopers in an actual game.

To be fair, the Scorpion in Spider-man does look quite a lot like a scorpion. More so than most of the humans you keep disallowing.

There are several, with names like 'DEATHSTALKER' that sound like Babby's First Metal Band. Just couldn't find decent pictures of them!

Yeah alright go on then, Spidey-Scorpion can be allowed. Can't take the mickey any more than Mas' post. Steel roboscorp is pretty cool though.

Some of those were trying so hard to look cool and modern and realistic that they just looked utterly shit and generic
