Tbh I feel like the bank system isn't worth it, not only is it in a weird spot on the map (should be in dirtmouth tbh) making travelling back and forth to it slightly annoying but later when you start picking up those little trinkets you can sell you can just save those up for when you really need high amounts of geo & if need be it's not hard to farm for if you equip the right charms.

I've been back and now have about 1500 geo in there.

On my Hollow Knight adventures I had a pretty rough time of it boss wise where I had the option to fight 2 but both could very easily kill me if my concentration slips even a little bit. (I think I'm due a nail upgrade as both seemed a bit tanky)

I didn't have problems with boss one, I have to say. Don't think I even died. That is a good charm combination that I've used a couple of times myself!

The second one, though... argh. Stumbled across it by mistake. Noped the heck out of there.

Even with nearly all the items and upgrades, I still struggled with this one.

As for Jas's two bosses, I had no problems with the first boss, but I think my charm setup made most bosses simple. If you're struggling and you've got the slots, I recommend Quick Slash, Longnail or Mark of Pride, Quick Focus and Grubsong. Quick Focus is the best charm in the game by my money.

The second boss was a pushover once I realised that Defender's Crest trivialises the tricky bit of that fight. To be fair, he's super optional much like Balla's spoilered boss so it's meant to be a tricky encounter and there's no backtracking after each failed attempt at least.

Otherwise I'd probably try and DPS it if I tried it again.

Anyway, I'm done! Kind of. Good game! Did enjoy. I like exploration, for the most part, and this game has oodles of ambience. Good final boss too, although the one just before it (in Fog Canyon) felt a bit too easy. Eh?

I brought up the Path of Pain as you access it through a true ending area. It's easily the biggest and most fulfilling challenge I've faced so far in the game. I properly punched the air after clearing it.

I'm not doing the path of pain because the game's health system is not built for a twitch platformer where you die repeatedly. The white palace was bad enough with me waiting for my health to regenerate so that I didn't have to worry about game overing.

Tweak your charm layout and that issue goes away - I was using Hive Blood (the charm that gives you the regenerating honey health) and Grubsong so I was able to keep moving forwards with no problems at all.

I'm usually like this with Metroidvanias as well but since beating the final boss I have pried myself away from it so I actually get to play other games for the next month or so.

I've not used this thread as I've been quietly playing it here and there but I think I'm at the stage now where I'm gonna get a bit addicted to it. My play sessions are getting longer and longer and the challenge feels like it's kicking in quite a bit more.

That happens. It happened to me with Metroid Prime too. Suddenly, a game I had to push myself to continue with is a game I can't drag myself away from in the evenings...
