Not sure if anyone else has been pottering about the forum by phone etc; but there seems to be some major room for improvement. Can't quote, automatically goes to first page of a topic and can't skip ahead to the end - you have to go through each page, can't see who's online can't see or use the menu to update profiles, view pm's, etc....

anything able to be done? T'will get quite bothersome given I'll often be using my phone....

It's still in beta now according to Stu but even if you switch the site to classic on your phone (currently on an itouch myself) it should still run smoothly.

Is this on the sleek shiny mobile version XenoS, or on the version that looks like it does on your computer only on your 'phone? I find that the latter still loads pretty quickly, while being much more convenient to use. I'm not sure how much Stu and I can do to change the former, though, since as Jaster says I think it's still in beta. Confused

yeah i was more meaning the former. The classic view is still pretty good on my phone; just wish the streamlined mobile version was better Sad

I can get the 'real' version of the site running just fine on my (crappy old) phone, so I don't bother with the mobile version yet. It is indeed in Beta phase at the moment, and has been ever since the site took off. It promises that we'll eventually be able to post/login and whatnot, but for the time being, we have no power to modify the mobile version of the site in any of the admin options I've trawled through.

I will keep you updated, but I sense that there's no upper limit on the Beta being finalised.

I think experience may depend on HTML5 compatibility of the mobile browser, too. My old phone running Windows Phone 7 and Internet Explorer 9 was useless with the mobile view, with the top menu bar refusing to show.

having upgraded to Windows Phone 8 and IE10 (which is much better for HTML5 compatibility) things are much better now, with said menu bar showing and moving down the page when I scroll down - I can finally log in!

I'm still posting from the classic version though, it loads really quickly anyway for me.

Also you can't do polls either.
The only real point of it is if you use Vodafone on the Isle of Wight, where there's terrible coverage (almost the whole island is 'E'), because it loads.

So 3G and further on in connection speed users use the normal board!
