Hey, we've got one of these now! Properly this time!

I guess we'll probably do most of our talking about the Discord in the Discord, but a couple of points:
- Promotion: where and how much? And we'd probably need a special 'server joining' link for that, right? (The link in the forum header ain't that.)
- Do we still need the clips channel, or does it get moved into the videos one?

I'll leave it there for now specifically for clips from multiplayer sessions. If it never gets used, maybe it can get the boot.

I invited EofGiz right away who's on here, and did look who else got on my friends list on Discord and some I was looking at like maybe Games Asylum etc to add.

Then I don't know if old members such as Zero would be keen to join.

Yeah, I agree with what Buska has said - I don't want to throw open the doors for any numpty to come in, but if it's folks we know then let's fire them an invite.

I've asked Beemoh if he wants to join since I added him to discord when we played a bit of MH4U at the end of last year.

I also invited GJones. I'd say he's somewhat more likely to turn up than Beemoh, and that this is only slightly cheating given that GJones has already shown up.

I'm going to go to Twitter this weekend I think with the news, but without an invite link: people will need to get them straight from us.

Maybe if you ever hear anyone say "aw man I miss N64 / NGC / NGamer magazine!". You know, out in the street and that.

I'll admit to not knowing who several of these new Discord folks are. Hopefully I get to know them over the next few days! (Also hopefully they show up here as well.)

I wanted to invite my friend Mark, and in trying to send him an invite I accidentally invited two other friends, both called Matt.

That's a great idea.

Also: do we need some custom emoji for the Discord?  Ones I'd like to see would be pointing Matthew from The Back Page (Discord admin. Buska is also there) and some sort of boo emoji, à la Tired Old Hack.

We can add some emoji but we'll want our own unique ones, don't try to turn this into your other discords.

I’d like to think that we’ve got enough patter of our own as to not have to lift stuff from The Back Page Podcast or Tired Old Hack.

That said, I’d like to meet the person creative enough to come up with a Tenderloin Minimise emoji.

I think I'd agree not to copy the other discord emojis, if only at a stubborn attempt at irrelevant individuality. We have our own shitty in-jokes we don't remember, thanks very much.


We should probably use our own Castlemoji, that of Rotating Platform (God I miss the old days) to express disappointment. Discord emojis are 128x128, but I was trying to find the original photo to regenerate a less janky version...

Probably the Grackler also in transparent emoji form - although I don't know what emotion the lad represents. So, er... I haven't helped there either! Although I could probably use the one at the top of the page. Jas, that was yours originally, wasn't it? Don't want to nick that without permission.

I tried getting Bing Image Creator (I know, AI bad etc.) to make a Tenderloin Minimise emoji. Er, well... it knew what it wanted to do at least

Aye it is so it's all good.

All right all right, it doesn't have to be exactly those emoji.  Those are just the reacts that I don't feel the default set can fill well.  Aggressive pointing and booing at jokes.  We could use our from here, that suits me.
