Yet I was severely disagreed with on twitter when I said Evil dead was more comedy than horror.

That's silly then. It's definitely got lots of comedic elements to it! Sure there's plenty of gore but it's got so much black comedy in it too.

Yup so I just left them to their opinion, what's funny though is the guy was a comedy writer himself.

Don't go on the Wikipedia page for Star Trek Into Darkness: it has major spoilers on it.

...

Iron Man 3 is OK.

Yeah I thought ironman 3 was great, different approach to most other comic book films with not having an obvious (at first) villain.

I've just read the story synopsis for Monsters University.

I'm worried it's gonna stink (more than I was before).

I saw Star Trek: Into Darkness this weekend. Cracking blockbuster - Cumberbatch is going to blow up in Hollywood.

Yup, I saw STID this weekend too. Not bad, although I objected to the bit where I was beaten over the head with the characters telling the audience what they'd done - massive spoiler behind here...

I like that they did that - it was a good idea. However, as someone with a long-term interest in Star Trek, I had spotted that they did it and felt insulted that they then had to tell us that they'd done it. I'd already spotted. Meh

See, as someone who's only seen the two JJ Abrams films, I appreciated that. It signposted to me that there's a tie to the older series here.

As a big Trek fan, I can see that could be annoying, but I thought the moment worked alright. I loved that it meant Spock caught the baddy without Kirk. About time someone else held the limelight.

Saw Cabin in the Woods for the first time yesterday. Great fun, and an interesting twist on a tired horror film cliche. It suffered from not being sure if it wanted to be a horror or a comedy, but I loved it.

Reading through the recent kids' films mentioned here, I will put my hand up and admit I cried in all of those, especially Up! but I am of course a woman. We just cry into our boxes of chocolate while watching movies.

As for Star Trek, well, I was thinking about asking this guy if he wanted to see it with me... Surprised

I can now join the crowd who have seen Star Trek Into Darkness! And who haven't seen any of the old Star Trek. I just liked the appearance of a Tribble, myself. D'awww.

Saw Hangover III this time last week. It was better than the second, definitely, but none of them are that funny, really. Also, they're basically super-racist.
Just got back from the film I was probably looking forward to most this year.
So, man of steel was great. Very much does its own thing, a nice watch. It's all eye candy, of course, but it does have a heart to it. Nice little water eggs all the way through as well.

And of course, yet another film to add to the "big blue laser firing up/ down in a city" list.

Would recommend, though. It certainly had more genuine peril to it than Avenger ever mustered.

Saw Man Of Steel not too long ago and felt underwhelmed. :affraid:

How can you mess up Superman? Crying or Very sad

I've always wondered about how you can make a Superman film engaging.  He's practically all-powerful.  Kinda hard to sympathise with a chap like that, or fear for him, unless he's living in a city made out of Kryptonite.

So you're on the "meh" side of the review fence?

I'll be seeing this on Thursday and I'm a little excited as I do like Superman. ( well he's one of the lesser boring comics I get but nothing will beat Deadpool)

Also was told that a reviewer in the US was going on about how SciFi shouldn't be in a movie like this.
