PostSubject: How is the scenery at your place?   Tue 4 Jun 2013 - 14:59

Just a nonsense thread from Oldschool.

I went for a hike today, up hill, down dale, around the farm district I live in. It was a 5km hike and those hill will wear you out, they did me. Anyway, this is the scenery around my home. The walk was wonderful adn I did enjoy talking to the Alpaca. The mountain in the shots is Mt Roland, which is 1250m and I live at the base of it. You may be in summer on the other side of the globe, but it is now winter here, so snow won't be far away.

I added a picture of my 'dog'. I took 'her' for a long walk and 'she' is far less annoying than the real thing Cool

So, how is the scenery at your place?

Funnily enough, I just went up Arthur's Seat, which is right behind my flat, yesterday and took some snaps.

Looks very nice up there Jay, but why are there hardly any trees?

I was at the very top of the hill, but there were trees further down.

Still funny.

...anyway: the scenery isn't much to look at out of my window. (It's the sad sight of a vet's car park)

The scenery outside my window at work is much nicer, I'm on the 7th floor, so you can see rolling hills in one direction for ages. Unless it's foggy, where it just looks like they forgot to draw the outside.

Well when I look out onto my tiny back patio, I see the fence that separates me from my neighbour, and the giant crater in the ground where the barbecue burnt through. Out my front door, well, it depends on the mood of the batshit crazies that live in Holloway. Today there was a door, for example. But I've had ovens, toilets, poo, wee and vomit. Beyond that, rows of takeaways, a burnt out pub and several laundrettes.

Ah, London living. If only I moved back to Scotland I'd be able to live round the back of Arthur's Seat too.

Nice green terrace. Two minutes' walk away, though, and you're into a propah men'al council estate. Two minutes' walk the other way, and you're into Regent's Park. It's a city of contrasts, is London.

So you went jaywalking?

It's alright round my bit. The beach is just two streets away, there's golf courses and parks left, right and center, some interesting historical landmarks close to here (Bruce's Well is just at the bottom of my street), plenty of rivers, castles, hills nearby...though if we're counting them, the local town centres are an absolute mess. Few rough estates here too. Plus: Killie is just up the road. Sick

Nothing outside my flat, I'm stuck up a long driveway and surrounded by fences. And then the rest is just small town stuff with nothing all that interesting, well I suppose the cave in the park near the library is interesting.

So yeah, nothing around my place, just a normal suburb.

I'll try to get a picture of the rat that keeps invading our garden, if you want.

DAMN YOU!

The view from my living room window. The image needs to be rotated. I am lazy. (I haven't left the house today which is why you're getting the view from where I'm sitting right now.)
