No, you're not. It's a total pain. Are we that antisocial as a country that we can no longer hold conversations any more?

Music in pubs is a nightmare, it's practically not worth having a conversation in one

I don't mind pubs with loud music if the music is decent (or preferably my choice!) and if it creates a positive atmosphere, but I have had words with managers about the noise level brought on my excessively load music in pubs on more than one occasion. I've been working for Action on Hearing Loss as part of their 'Loud Music' campaign for a couple of years now, and that's one of the main things they try and promote. It's important to me.
