The McRib

So this is the famous McRib. It's back, it's gone again, it's back again. I'd never had one before, but during a ludicrous public transport misadventure this evening I popped into Maccy D and this took my fancy.
It really wasn't all that. This is probably the only McDonald's product that isn't noticeably tastier than the Rustlers equivalent. This is just a vaguely shaped chunk of cow bits in generic barbecue sauce with a few too many onions on top. And this evening I'm feeling really sick.

I spent most of last night feeling like I was gonna chuck it back up. I was alright in the end though.

Aww. As soon as my post-wisdom-tooth-removal mouth was recovered, I was hoping to give this one a go.

Give it a go, it wasn't awful. And I might just have felt ill because I didn't need a Maccy ds.

I'd imagine the Rustlers equivalent is probably cheaper too, right?

I tried a Rustlers burger for the first time a few weeks back. Apart from the soggy lower part of the bun, it wasn't half as bad as I imagined.

They're good "shame" food. Like, when you've literally no time to make lunch. I wouldn't eat them in place of dinner though.

I bought one 'cause I was in the supermarket with a mate and they were on two for £2, or something like that. No substitute for a nice sarnie for lunch with a bag of crisps.

No, no, I'm with you there. Even a Greggs would be better than a Rustlers.

Double Caramel Kit Kat Chunky

The Kit Kat Crunchy is a very reliable bar, though perhaps a little boring. The manufacturers certainly think so, given the amount of limited edition bars or new variations they keep farting out like Patsy Kensit. Which brings me, semi-neatly, to today's offering. One half contains crunchy caramel, and the other half contains smooth.

Pros:

- New! Boast to all your friends at work/the pub/the local StreetPass group that you've had one!
- Smooth half is well nice

Cons:

- Crunchy half, not so much
- Smooth half leaves strong and unpleasant aftertaste

Not a glowing endorsement but I do love a Kit Kat Chunky so I'll have to pick one of those up tomorrow.

Hmm strange, I felt the same after I had one although I'd also been drinking so it could just be a mix of the two. I would also say it wasn't much better than the Rustler's equivalent.

Toast the buns separately, they're much better that way.

I second the toasting the buns tip for rustler burgers.

I've heard that about buns from a few people but I'm yet to try it. Next time maybe.

Context: Colleague was specifically asked by another colleague to bring them back from Norway.

Pros: Really nice smooth milk chocolate.  Like Dairy Milk, but in wafer-thin hearts.

Cons: Each heart is quite thin and insubstantial.  There are plenty in a box, though, so you can override this by having a couple at a - wait, where did they all go?

Verdict: Almost irritatingly moreish.  If you're going to Norway, pick some of these up.

Mars Xtra Choc (Limited Edition)

I had to have three of these before I made up my mind ( ).

Pros: It's a Mars bar. Always fun.

Cons: The 'xtra choc' gimmick doesn't make it taste any more chocolatey - in fact, to my palate, it seemed more coffee-y.

Muller Light Skinny Cappuccino



Pros:

Fat-free and only 99 calories - get it right up ye, Cafe Nero.
Chocolate textures works better than it does in an actual cappuccino

Cons:

Very indistinct coffee taste, to the point that you question the point
Smells like a cross between a dirty foot and an arse
Looks vile, looks like baby sick.

I wasn't looking forward to tasting this, but I've braved the whole pot, and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Disappointing, as I was all prepared to come out with the Alex Dale classic 'a big put full of bum'.
