Watching the Rusev one now. I don't like seeing him act like such a nice bloke... he needs to be an evil, misogynistic foreigner!

In relation to the UpUpDownDown chat, is anyone else with me in thinking that the New Day have been the best part of Raw for a fair while recently? I'm always entertained when they're about.

The New Day are absolutely fantastic. They're big and brash and fun, especially Woods and his trombone!

The backstage segment a couple of weeks ago with Rollins, Edge and Christian and the Dudleyz was one of the best I've ever seen I think, it got so much right.

Also I'm not too fussed about Rollins losing the US title if it sees the return of the open challenge, he's still "the man" and that's all that matters.

That was a quality segment, particularly Woods busting out the Final Fantasy victory theme.

They've really got their act nailed now - Woods is a bit naff in the ring, but he is so entertaining at what he does so they've kept him to a managerial role and let Big E and Kofi tear it up inside the ring. They look like they're having a blast every time they wrestle. Great stuff.

Wouldn't call Woods naff in the ring, more that Biggs and Wedge are just great power and jumpy men respectively.

Definitely agree that the act is in a sweet spot right now though.

Also, long long term, I would love to see Xavier be mouthpiece for other wrestlers. There aren't enough managers in today's WWE, and some superstars could do with one. Its worked amazingly for Brock

The great thing about Professor Xavier is he can just do the exact same schtick and it'll work just as well for a face or a heel. It just depends how the crowd feel about whoever he's with.

As much as I like New Day & I do quite a bit they seem to be in a weird middle zone between obnoxious heels and clap happy faces, though I guess that's hang over from the things they do ending up being hilarious.





Just watch Eden Stiles' face in that first one.

I think they've made the "heels who think they're faces thing" really work, they've had more success than Bo Dallas at least. I like them because you can cheer them or boo them and be completely justified.

I need to catch up on NXT, I've missed the past couple of episodes. Asuka (Kana) is a huge deal by the way, and I'm glad they're loading up their woman's division again after 3/4 of the Four Horsewoman have made the leap to the main roster.

Yeah and The Rocks Cuz is over soon as well.

I'm also behind on NXT, when is the takeover event anyway?

This Saturday, not sure about what time though guessing 1 am.

Also the next NXT takeover is London Dec 12th, we've gone to the wrong one Drunka & Muss.

Cheers I won't be watching it live anyway, also are you saying London is the first stop on the tour? If so you are wrong it goes Newcastle (Dec 10th), Glasgow (11th) then Sheffield. (12th)

No there's a Takeover PPV type thing planned in London, hence why I said the next TAKEOVER is in London.

And we're going Sheffield on the same night, that seeing there's a Takeover the main NXT roster likely in London not Sheffield.

I'm a it's next week NXT Takeover: Respect on the 7th. It's the MSG sort of PPV event tonight with Brock v Big Show etc

I watched the MSG show on the Network during a hefty commute, and it was decent enough entertainment. That said, I really hope they close the door on a number of those feuds. Ziggler and Rusev has been a rubbish rivalry that's been cringeworthy to watch unfold - it's time to move them on. Sheamus and Orton have good chemistry together, but they're doing nothing that they didn't already do in any of their countless matches in the past. Neville Vs. Stardust should have finished at Summerslam, and it's shockingly lazy booking for them to be still at it. Cena Vs. Rollins is similarly overdone and the feud itself has been pretty mundane, but the matches have ranged from good to outstanding, so I'm not really minding if that goes on a little longer.

Still, while WWE could shuffle the deck and freshen up the midcard scene at the same time, the 2010s have really heavily emphasised that, in WWE, it doesn't really matter in the wider scheme of things. Unless you're in one of the top three rivalries with Brock Lesnar, The Undertaker, Triple H or John Cena, you don't really matter.
