Shocked

Like I said, suggestions to improve that particular award are more than welcome.  Not sure if having a vote for each platform would be the way to do it, especially since so many of the "big" games are cross-platform and we have relatively few MS gamers anyway; but it's an idea!

Aye I realise why it was done you big dirty Nintendo fanboy Razz I'm kidding of course and if I think of a better suggestion than the one I said I will be happy to suggest it.

So would that be one award section together or two separate ones? I honestly don't see how that makes it more focused than just other formats especially since the number of exclusive can vary year to year.

Two awards,

Of course it makes it makes it more focused as this year PS4 has 27, ONE has 16 coming that means there's a least 43 games we could vote in Exclusive Game Not on a Nintendo System Award.

And then you would have the Cross-Platform Award which would have 43 less games in it and hopefully make it more focused.

Hmm....I suppose but wasn't the main reason for the other format section being like that as it was less work to count the votes? (I remember balla saying something like this anyway) Doing it by each console/system just seems the most logical & fair way to me especially when we allow folk to vote for a game in say the Nintendo category but they may have played it on PC etc.

I can't remember what I said, but I think we were just trying to keep things simple by having one vote, and see how it turned out. (Questionably, as it happened.)

Anyway, events! Very Happy

But if we did each console only Drunka & Andy will be voting in the ONE award, well I might have one by this time next year. It seems a bit silly to have such a award with so few people to vote in it, there might as well be a dreamcast award where I only voted for Alice's Mum. And if you don't do a ONE award due to lack of people alongside PS4 etc Drunka might go but I wanted to vote fro Halo 5 and he's got nowhere to vote for it.

The winning event was a delight to participate in and is a perfect winner for 2014. As for potential future votes and events, watch this space! Grin

Wait, Dangaronpa 1 counted!?  Crap, I thought it was a 2013 game, would've given it first place over a honorable mention if I'd known.  Sorry Monokuma, I have failed you!   Aww!

Good to see plenty of obscurities in there, though. I don't know the first thing about the Dangaronpa franchise.

Bunch of crazy anime stereotypes are locked in a high school by an evil murderous technologically advanced bear and told if they want out they have to kill one of their classmates and get away with it.  Awesome mysteries, massive despair, intriguing character moments, and insane executions ensue.

That's the highly abbreviated version, the larger version would involve some unavoidable spoilers and a couple of text walls.  It's a great point and click adventure and I highly recomend it to anyone who has a vita, especially if they liked games like Persona 4.

It's the home stretch, gents!  For now, your second gaming award:

The A Link Between Worlds Award for 3DS Game of the Year (14 votes, including one person mentioning only one game, and two people with two)

(Someone did actually vote for ALBW at first, before being informed that it came out last year!  Hopefully its all-commanding position at the top of the award will make up for that, sir!)

Bronze Medal

Silver Medal

Shovel Knight wuz robbed again. Sad

Certainly not my first choice there, but it's good to see another quality selection making the podium. You're all making me want to try Fantasy Life, too.

It's a decent list yeah but SSB3D now has it's big brother out & pokemon is a remake that it makes it feel it's not as good as year it could of been for the 3DS, but there's a few games there like FL, RF4 & Kirby which all do peak my interest.

SK could come nowhere Stu as you think Wii U vote is between Kart, SMASH and Bayo 2 but in what order is the question.

Bah, nobody else loving Rune Factory? You're all mad! Especially the Pokemon fans Razz

I couldn't recommend Fantasy Life more either, such a fun game that you can lose hours in.

How did the remake of the one gen of Pokemon that people were screaming for bring down the 3ds's year? Yes the games were a bit of a disappointment but I don't see how it brought the year down...

Because it's a remake, I loved the game myself. but surely it would be nicer to see some new games instead, I can see it again next year though MM3D will likely get into the top 3, the games are great even though we could of all played them.

Aw, man, I'm never gonna live that down. (He says, pretending not to enjoy every second of it.)

As for the three winners, those are three thoroughly deserving threads. Dear Daisy has been very helpful to me, I wholeheartedly agree with the idea that TRP gives GNamer that NGamer feeling of being tied to a mag and as for BtH. . . For the sheer effort if nothing else it deserves the plaudits. I do like to imagine forcing someone unfamiliar with The Nicest Corner of the Internet to read it; in jokes on top of in jokes with a healthy dose of nonsense.

Thanks to the kind soul who thought my rantiest post on these forums was a good one. Laughing

Worthy winners all round - Tenderloin got my vote (I think), but I did enjoy all three of the winning threads.

Yup! I now fear that I was the only one to vote for it in the wii U section. Sad

& in my book that is a travesty, not that those 3 games you mentioned don't or wouldn't deserve it but I'd personally plump for SK over bayo 2 every time.

As Balla said, the 3DS Vote's Top Two was an easy prediction, but third place a total surprise. In some ways, that's a good thing. I think. Meh

Regarding Post/Thread Of The Year, some great memories and fine moments. GNamer is awesome, y'all! Dance

The final gaming award!  The 3DS vote was slightly bigger, because more people on the forum have 3DSes (although I'd say there's never been a better time to get a Wii U[/gosen]), but I still think we're finishing off with the big one:

The Pikmin 3 Award for Wii U Game of the Year (13 votes, including two people mentioning two games each, and another five-for)

(This time, two people tried to submit a vote for WWHD - the Zelda games' appeal transcends the years!)

Bronze Medal

Silver Medal

Fourth Place

Fifth Place
