Who get paid to do that but you can understand why last gen at the time sales were slowing up (yet the systems were becoming like 6-8 years old) and so was software sales and mobile was becoming so much more popular then the Wii U came out and barely sold which added to what they were saying.

Nintendo had released there financials for Q3 which April 1st to Dec 1st 2015, also there's some interesting bits near the bottom not just Numbers

The main figures for Q3 we have a net income profit of £233.9 million which is a 31.9% drop on the previous year's equivalent. Net Sales are down by 3.9% over the equivalent period from last year, while the core business of making and selling products is actually up by 34.4%, bringing an operating profit of £245 million.

Nintendo is once again sticking to its sales and profit projections for the year:

For Nintendo 3DS, we will globally release a special edition hardware pre-installed with Pokémon title(s) from the original Pokémon series on February 27 which marks the 20th year since the original Pokémon series release. Furthermore, Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and key titles from third-party publishers are scheduled for release.

For Wii U, we will strive to maintain the attention level of Splatoon and Super Mario Maker, which are continuing to show steady sales, while introducing new titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.

Meanwhile, for amiibo, we will continue to expand the product lineup in order to maintain momentum. At the same time, we will aim to further expand sales by offering new gaming experiences with the use of amiibo. In addition, the first application for smart devices, Miitomo, is scheduled for release.

Those financial targets then are an operating income of around £287 million / €379 million, and a net income profit of £201 million.

Now for what sold:

amiibo which sold in 20.5m figures and 21.5m cards

For software that did over 1 million SKUs worldwide
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer - 2.93 million sales
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire - 1.52 million sales  - lifetime sales of 11.46 million
Mario Kart 7 - 1.33 million sales - lifetime sales of 13.03 million
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS - 1.16 million sales - lifetime sales of 7.92 million
The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes - 1.08 million sales
Splatoon - 4.06 million sales
Super Mario Maker - 3.34 million sales
Mario Kart 8 - 2.13 million sales - lifetime sales of 7.24 million
Yoshi's Woolly World - 1.31 million sales

For Hardware

Wii U:
Hardware Sales (Q1 to Q3) — 3.06 million units
Hardware Sales (1st October to 31st December) — 1.87 million units
Hardware Sales (life to date) — 12.6 million units
Hardware Sales Projection (2015 to 2016) — 3.4 million units
Software Sales (Q1 to Q3) — 22.62 million units

3DS
Hardware Sales (Q1 to Q3) — 5.88 million units
Hardware Sales (1st October to 31st December) — 3.6 million units
Hardware Sales (life to date) — 57.94 million units
Hardware Sales Projection (2015 to 2016) — 7.6 million units
Software Sales (Q1 to Q3) — 38.87 million units

Wii
Hardware Sales (Q1 to Q3) — 110,000 units
Hardware Sales (1st October to 31st December) — 40,000 units
Hardware Sales (life to date) — 101.63 million units
Hardware Sales Projection (2015 to 2016) — 100,000 units
Software Sales (Q1 to Q3) — 6.18 million units

Now for some interesting bits, there is some stat I'm not sure how it's worked out (must be the same amount of the time on the market as the GameCube) but with today's report the Wii U officially becomes Nintendo's worst selling console ever.

But let's not dwell on the negatives but to look at the positives at software which is coming (this is European based unless threes something interesting from elsewhere):

3DS:
Hyrule Warriors Legends, 24/3/2016
YO-KAI WATCH, 2016
Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright, 2016
Fire Emblem Fates: Conquest, 2016
Metroid Prime: Federation Force, 2016
Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, 2016 (Listed as 18/3/2016 in USA)
Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past, 2016 (Listed as Summer in USA)
Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King, 2016
Dr Kawashima's Devilish Brain Training: Can you stay focused? TBD

There is a list of 3rd Party but it's stuff out this month or very soon which we know has dates.

Wii U:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD 4/3/2016
Pokken Tournament 18/3/2016
Star Fox Zero April 2016 (No longer a actual date for EU but USA is still down down 22/4/2016 which is a Friday)
Genei Ibun Roku #FE (temp) 2016
Mario and Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, 2016
The Legend of Zelda (temp) 2016 (last report was TBD)
Project Giant Robot (temp) TBD
Project Guard (temp) TBD (This was listed as 2015 up in till now)

There is a list of 3rd party but again it's stuff already out or out very soon.

That's everything folks.

We are never getting Devilish Brain Training. 'TBD' stands for 'Too Bad, Dreamers'.

That aside, not unexpected? I feel a mixture of nostalgic and sad that the Wii is still selling in enough numbers to warrant mentioning in the briefing.

It's not hard either anyone can look at the report online, yes it is down but other things are up. I'm not sure what one of the type of profits are the best though.

Was listening to Radio One on the way home from work and on the news they said gaming company Nintendo cuts profits by half due to poor Christmas trade of the 3DS and Wii U but hope things turn around with the launch of there new console the NX this year.

Well I have the financials here for the rest of the year (31st March), anyone think that's why he had a direct to drive stock up as it's Pokemon.

To start with the numbers, Nintendo has dropped its anticipated overall sales revenue for the financial year by 12.3%, which is a fairly significant drop. Operating profit is estimated to be 33,000 million Yen (around $293 million) rather than 50,000 million Yen (around $443 million), while the upcoming net profit - the final number when all is said and done - is estimated to be 17,000 million yen (around $151 million), which is a drop from the previous estimate of 35 million Yen (about $310 million).

Those declining numbers are blamed on two things - on the one hand Nintendo is citing "yen appreciation in foreign currency exchanges" as causing a hit, though it's worth noting that the reverse has helped Nintendo's profits in recent years. The main point, though, is that Nintendo is acknowledging a drop in its predicted sales for the 3DS, though the Wii U has provided some happy news. We've broken down the numbers below.

3DS

Estimated hardware sales for financial year (2015 / 2016) - 6.6 million (previously 7.6 million)
Hardware sales for previous financial year (2014 / 2015) - 8.73 million

Estimated software sales for financial year (2015 / 2016) - 47 million (previously 56 million)
Software sales for previous financial year (2014 / 2015) - 62.74 million

Wii U

Estimated hardware sales for financial year (2015 / 2016) - 3.4 million (unchanged)
Hardware sales for previous financial year (2014 / 2015) - 3.38 million

Estimated software sales for financial year (2015 / 2016) - 27 million (previously 23 million)
Software sales for previous financial year (2014 / 2015) - 24.4 million

Wii

Estimated hardware sales for financial year (2015 / 2016) - 100,000 units (unchanged)
Hardware sales for previous financial year (2014 / 2015) - 460,000 units

Estimated software sales for financial year (2015 / 2016) - 7 million (previously 4 million)
Software sales for previous financial year (2014 / 2015) - 11.73 million

Well the PS4 keeps on selling silly numbers in the UK it has reached as of last month hit 3 million SKU's sold which means the system is now selling better then it was as it took 18 months to get to 2 Million which was something liked the fasted for PlayStation in the UK and has took just 8 months to sell another million.

Which means it's still outpacing the PS2 also the UK PR guy team went on how this year will be the best in PS4's history so far and if the console is selling silly numbers with no games like what the internet will tell you, imagine how it's going to sell with games this year.

Quad Post sorry guys but who here likes Salezzz Sleep Not many it seems but hey for those that do I give you the Numbers of Nintendo.

Hardware

Wii U
Hardware Sales (financial year) — 3.26 million units which is about 200k less then predicted
Hardware Sales (life to date) — 12.8 million units
Hardware Sales Projection (2016 to 2017) — 800,000 units, I think this tells something on what basket Nintendo will be putting there eggs in

Software Sales (financial year) — 27.36 million units - This was more the predicted
Software Sales Projection (2016 to 2017) — 15 million units - This will be about 10m less then last year but with less games coming makes sense

3DS
Hardware Sales (financial year) — 6.79 million units - less then the original prediction but more then the revised one but 3DS seems to be slowing down
Hardware Sales (life to date) — 58.85 million units
Hardware Sales Projection (2016 to 2017) — 5 million units - less again which I'm surprised isn't a little higher because of Pokemon

Software Sales (financial year) — 48.52 million units  - less then the original prediction but more then the revised one
Software Sales Projection (2016 to 2017) — 55 million units - less then last years prediction but more then what actually sold lat year unlike the hardware predictions

Wii
Hardware Sales (financial year) — 110,000 units - 10k more then predicted
Hardware Sales (life to date) — 101.63 million units
Hardware Sales Projection (2016 to 2017) — None given

Software Sales (financial year) — 7.33 million units - 3k more then predicted
Software Sales Projection (2016 to 2017) — None given

On what Nintendo made

They have a net income profit of 16,505 million Yen, which amounts to around £101.8 million down 60.6% on the previous year. The core business of making and selling products also brought an operating profit of 32,881 million Yen, which is roughly £202.9 million  and up 32.7 % on last year; currency exchange problems are cited for impacting the net profit against operational profit. Net sales, for reference, saw a decline of over 8% compared to 2014 / 2015.

amiibo & Miitomo

The figure-type and the card-type sold approximately 24.70 million units and approximately 28.90 million units respectively. Furthermore, sales of additional download content for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U increased and total download sales reached 43.9 billion yen. Miitomo, was released globally in March and started off well with 10 Million users worldwide.

From the NX thread
Balladeer wrote:
Then again, Sony could release a literal lump of dog faeces as the PS8 and it'd do better than the Wii U.

Well you might be right as PlayStation's online platform alone pulled in $4.8 billion compared to the Nintendo's total $4.6 billion.

And the PS4 sold 17.5m SKU's last financial year alone, to put that is perspective the Wii U has sold 12.8m SKU's in 3+ years and the Xbox One has sold 18m SKU's in 2+ years .

PS4 now has sold over 40m SKU's in 2+ years, meaning it's still out pacing the PS2 and overall PlayStation made a Profit of $816m.

Sony as a whole isn't doing to bad at all either part form there Phone division.

The NPD's for May went up a few days ago and it's not great for Star Fox Zero which may have sold less then 500k (worldwide) and the Wii U had it's worst month ever in that states selling around 28k consoles.

Nintendo had a annual meeting and a few things have come out of it and I'm putting it all here even if related to a single game.

VR

Nintendo want to make sure that it is affordable, durable, carries value, and can be played for long periods of time.

These are from translations about VR.  We're also researching VR, so we have the core technology. Long play sessions are an issue. We want to release something that can be played for long periods, carries value, and is affordable. We want parents to feel at ease.

Interesting as I have seen stats about EVE been played over 5+hrs in VR with no issues unless Nintendo mean they don't want 2hr experience like a few things on VR are at the moment and they want 40hr+ Zelda on it and it can be played in VR that long. On the kid thing like 3D on the 3DS, if they do VR and worried they'll have just to put over 12's or something on the box, like how 3DS has 7+.

Kimishima knew the Wii U wouldn't sell

Kimishima: I understand your question as being about my speaking negatively about the Wii U. Some said that the Wii U would sell because the Wii was selling. However, I said that if the Wii was selling, getting users enjoying the Wii to switch would be a hard sell.

He also felt that the console could not stand apart enough from the original Wii.

So was the Wii U at the wrong time, wrong name or not different enough?

Nintendo still has more money then well the UK at least

Assets: 1.3 trillion yen. Net assets minus liabilities equal 1.16 trillion yen, down 6.6b yen.

Download sales have totaled 43.9 billion yen

Smart device games

Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing will come to smart devices this fall.

Not much to be said, really on them in till we know more.

On Brexit
Kimishima: We believe smart device titles will be profitable. We're cautious about British EU exit effects, which may affect sales and profits if the yen continues to be strong.

Nintendo knows how to do business

Miyamoto: Breath of the Wild has over 100 staff, and over 300 people in the credits, spending over 5 years. Our current efforts will be helpful in the next production. The costs will be recovered by selling in large volumes, passing 2m sales.

That's great to know as you see from the likes of Square going FFXV needs to do 10m+ units to turn a profit.

NX still scheduled to be March 2017

That's all I've got at the moment from this meeting, other news TMS#FE placed 18th in the UK Chart which isn't bad and has out sold Odin Sphere HD combined and there both similar niche games, the UK was down as I hear the Top 10 only sold 65k combined and Mighty No 9 may have done something like 1700 games combined and remember it's on at least 3 platforms at the moment of course a lot of people who would have wanted would have backed the game but still , I reckon I could make a game and sell more the 1700 SKU's.

The low numbers overall could be down to lack of new releases that appeal to the mainstream and it's June/July.

Sales don't matter. Finance doesn't matter. Share prices, overly driven by sentiment, especially don't matter. So long as Nintendo has the money to keep making great consoles and great games, the value of the company matters only to its workers, its investors, and its most rabid of fanboys.

And taking the latter into account, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Yeah it's true and people will spin it as Sony can still say thy made more then Nintendo did in a whole year just in digital alone but Nintendo is Nintendo and they just need that one thing be it the Wii or now Pokemon Go, then everything changes.

Hopefully all these people that have downloaded PGO, that's drove up the share prices spend money on the game which Nintendo can reinvest, what could be a worrying thing is and like I said in the PGO thread this is a hit on something Nontendo.

Nintendo share prices drop as they say that Pokémon GO basically isn't their game (which we all knew from the start). The thing is, Nintendo are the only stakeholders in The Pokémon Company in whom you can actually invest on the stock market, so all the investors went to them out of Hobson's choice.

It was good while it lasted? Confused

It goes to show how fickle these share prices are and how you can't really rely on them, the fact they've gone down based on something that was always common knowledge highlights how clueless some of these people are.

Which gives Sony £18,130,600
MS £11,963,500
Nintendo £2,729,700

Which can be broken down like this (Year-on-Year):

Week 22, 2016 - 284,290 / £8.5m
Week 23, 2016 - 198,901 / £6.1m
Week 24, 2016 - 205,584 / £5.6m

Week 26, 2016 - 278,598 / £8.4m
Total - 1,149,443 (-33.21%) / £33.7m (-39.93%)

First the first half of the year:

A total of 7,573,888 physical game have been sold which is down 18.42% Year-on-Year
All systems part from the PS4 are down Year-on-Year , the PS4 is up 11.79%. The biggest drop is the DS which isn't surprising due to its age is down 83.32%.
Wii U has sold 263,517 games so far this year and the 3DS has sold 407,216

Games industry is down in the UK back in 2008 the 1st half of the year 33,200,000 games were sold and now 8 years later in the same space of time a total of only 7,573,888 games were sold and the year is down as well. I don't know if the gap between 2008 and 2016 is due to things like digital as you do hear things like Uncharted 4 doing these amazing numbers which Sony are likely counting digital but then you can see the PS4 doing great numbers and is even up Year-on-Year. Also it is important to note each year has been down since 2008 as well.

Back in 2008 did we have a strong presence from all 3 companies which you can see we haven't got now and what was PC gaming like back then as now it is basically all digital now.

In terms of revenue in 2008 it was £821,100,00 now it's £235,100,000 which 49% is Sony based.

In b4 mas (I think that's what you young'uns would say): NintendoLife's report on Nintendo's finances for the financial year so far. Basically, if you've got few games, you're not going to sell very many games or consoles. If it weren't for Pokémon GO and selling that stake in the Seattle Mariners, Nintendo would look like it was in real trouble.

The combined effect of Pokémon Sun & Moon, Super Mario Run and Christmas is projected to help sales in the next quarter.

I think you can scrap Christmas out of that, because really all they have is Pokemon.

And dam well it has done as Pokemon S&M has has the best launch for Nintendo game in the UK and other regions.

Also the PS4 had its best week in the UK since launch and selling 2 million consoles in one day worldwide,.

Basically after all the doom and gloom of Watch Dogs 2, Titanfall 2, Dishonoured 2 - Yay Video Games.
