Not long in till we can get our claws on this, am I the only one that is excited for this as I've not seen much talk about it.

Here is a interview with Ready at Dawn CEO Ru Weerasuriya who talks about a cinematic legacy and not even scratching the surface what the PS4 can do.

Wow, the reviews of this are mostly dire. Only the graphics seem to be praised. Yet again, this generation of high end games fails to deliver.

Well some have praised it for it's filmic approch also this gen only just started and this was like the first game from a first party that really shows what a 8th gen can do.

Essentially none have praised it for what matters though, being a good game. I think after this long we probably shouldn't be saying that the generation has just started. That seems like an excuse. But you are right, it appears to show what is possible, now they just need to marry that with a good game, which will happen.

You can say that about almost any generation, though. Each one starts with a great deal of floundering and misplaced hype.

This one seems significantly more though Stu. I think we are in a period of stagnation, where everyone is just trying to make the same thing that sold over the last 5 years, with a different skin, and the market isn't overly impressed. Surely we are in for a shake up, something has to change.

You could argue that Nintendo's been doing this ever since the N64, but I agree. There will be one big, generation-defining game that comes out, followed by a slew of copycats.

It's odd that even Naughty Dog isn't trying anything new this time around and is instead adding to the Uncharted franchise.

I don't think that is an argument Stu, it is pretty true that Nintendo is doing the same thing. There aren't a lot of new things to counter that.

Question - did you feel you got your moneys worth from it? I'm not suggesting it was a particularly horrible game, but the length of this is a real sticking point for me. I suppose you can just trade it in now, now that I think about it.

Yeah I do, I saw your jib at it else where.

It took me about 7hrs to do, and I enjoyed it and like I said in random thoughts how can you put on a price on enjoyment being £40 shouldn't really have a baring or the length it should be will you enjoy your time with it & is that worth the £40.

I played Fallout 3 when that came out played for 10hrs payed £40 and didn't enjoy it at all and was a waste of my money because I didn't enjoy the experience and like you said you can sell on. GAME will give £33 for The Order, so could look at it at costing £7.

£7 honestly seems worth it for a 7 hour game. But £40 for an experience that short boggles my mind. Hey, if you enjoyed it though, power to you - I just enjoy a longer experience in my games.

Well I actually bought the Blackwater edition which was £70 , see I sooner have a decent experience then long dull thing of course you can have both but take the reboot Tomb Raider it had online but no one played the MP and the Single Player was only about 12 hrs for its £40 but no one brought up the length of that or Journey which is 90minutes for £15.

True. But I think people have a problem with how the devs for The Order tried to excuse the game's length with cries of how "cinematic" it is, and gamers are increasingly becoming wary of that word.

I watched Jim Sterling's take on it, some of it I agree with like AC that's a action game but RAD said from day one that The Order would be filmic & that's what I got and I enjoy those sort of games especially Heavy Rain.

Fair enough! Those sort of games just do not seem fun to me in any way - they look like glorified QTEs. Meh

I have had limited fun with these games, and I agree about the QTE aspect. I think they are worth playing, just not at the high price they are asking. When I get a PS4 next year sometime, I am sure I will pick up Order: 1886 for what it is, at an extremely cheap price.

Really I could barely find a game and seemed crap when I did, just something that was shoehorned in there to me as all games now need multiplayer for some reason.

I give praise for RAD for not shoehorning MP and same to rocksteady for not doing it with Arkham Knight.

On PS3 at least there was a good community like a year or so after launch, some of the modes were a bit underpopulated, but deathmatch was good to go. It can rely a bit heavily on the bow, but it really is a fun multiplayer experience. The Order doesn't seem like it would've been shoehorning, it's a TPS... Hardly rocket science...

But not everything needs a MP that's what I'm saying what happened to just making a SP game, that's what I'm saying.

I think it does if it means you're avoiding putting out a really sparse experience - Wolfenstein: The New Order didn't have multiplayer, but that's a 16 hour shooter, so it's acceptable. A 5 hour experience at £45 is lacking, to me at least.

I don't know why you keep bringing up the length of 5hrs that was one guy the avg length on HLTB is 7hrs and like I said the length to me has no barring on a game what so ever it's the experience you have with it.

And adding a MP mode to The Order I doubt would of changed many peoples experience of the game maybe someone's but I sooner RAD made what they wanted to make a filmic experience then just a gears of war clone.

On Wolfenstein like I said before in the pissed of thread, I over heard dude moans that didn't have MP and it sucks because of it and that saddens me that people want MP all the time in everything.

Where myself want more SP story focused games, I'm not saying you can't have both as Bloodborne will have both but that would likely still be great with or without MP.

Wolfenstein is brilliantly a bang on comparison right now as well. They're about to put out a game that's probably 4-5 hours long and is only £15 Laughing

And that means nothing, so with that then Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate should be £500 then due how long that is.

Length has no barring on anything, it's the experience I enjoyed my experience with The order and was worth the money, Andy you might enjoy it but feel you would you would enjoy more if it was £20.

It's all down to personal tastes but the length people keep banging on shouldn't be a sticking point in till they play the game and see if you enjoy, so maybe we need more DEMO's.

Like I said people still moaned about Stein not having MP, and that's a FPS surely it should have it but it doesn't need it like other SP games don't need MP.
