I'd stay the fuck away from our local park - it's pretty damn big and full of spots for Predders to get me. I'd probably hide in my local community centre on election day - there's always a dog tied to a lamppost outside which barks as you enter, and that'll surely scare Predders away.

The oldest-known evidence of beer was found last month.  It needn't be 11,000-year-old beer, but tell us about a drink you wish you hadn't had.

They called it a "suicide bomb" - questionable name, I know - and it was comprised of Jagermeister and Goldschlager and energy drink. It was vile, it defeated me for the evening and it came back to haunt me not long after I'd drunk it. Never again.

As a Nintendonly gamer I have to reign in my expectations, I think.  Spider-Man was a Sony exclusive, and any other game doing a similar movement system justice (e.g. Iron Man's flight suit) over an open world would have to have some serious grunt behind it.  On the other hand, I can see myself guiding The Incredibles' Frozone and his icy surfing through some pretty interesting, but functionally linear, levels.  So him.

I like Bow from Paper Mario. She was pretty strong if I remember correctly and I love the "ohohohoho" anime-style laugh she does.

Regularly meeting up with folks, genuinely. Most of my friends are too far away to do that on the regular, sadly.

I'd head East. I wouldn't last a day in the ol' West!

Nicolas Cage was supposedly nearly cast as Aragorn in the LotR trilogy and I really really want to see that version of the trilogy now.

None. Eevee undergoes a journey of self-discovery and realises that whilst everybody else around him may want him to change, he's perfectly happy the way he is.

Diablo III found itself greatly enhanced on Switch with the inclusion of a playable Ganondorf skin. What game really needs amiibo integration next and in what way would they be used?

Dark Souls needed better amiibo integration than the Solaire amiibo. Let's summon in an absolutely terrified Lucas to do battle with the Gaping Dragon, or watch in horror as the true evil, Kirby, inhales the population of Lordran.

Cabela's: The Hunt - Championship Edition came out last month and... well, it's another hunting game. How could Cabela make their games animal friendly instead?

Take the "stroke and pet your army" thing from Fire Emblem and apply it to Cabela's. Sorted.

Sandshrew.  Like Pikachu, it's cute; like Pikachu, it has broad cross-spectrum appeal; but it has a better evolution, and I genuinely think it's cuter.  Of course, if I'd been over-exposed to Sandshrew in the way I have been to Pikachu, I probably wouldn't feel like that...

The new Sound-type will come with its own Eeveelution, wearing shades and a backwards baseball cap and carrying a boombox.  Funkeon is ready to groove.

I thought Code Name: STEAM's inclusion of the Fire Emblem characters was immense, but I liked how it was also entirely optional.  JRPGs and the like could really benefit from something similar.  Imagine touching Mewtwo into XC2 as a Blade.  Heck, why not allow touching Lucario into Pokémon Let's Go for an utterly off-Pokédex addition?  The amiibo could save the levelling up, too, allowing your Lucario to hop between games.  And levelling up your Lucario in Smash could carry over into Pokémon and vice versa... (starts furiously typing an e-mail to Nintendo)

You play as the stag, trying to gore the hunter.  Succeed and you unlock the ability to play as bears, eagles, pikes...  At the game's climax, you assemble your animal army and march on American cities, thus orchestrating the much-deserved fall of man.

I bought a used PS3 for £80 because the Wii U was on its last legs.  The games, some of them relatively new, must have cost between £20 and £40 a pop.  I haven't touched it since the Switch came out, meaning I played about three hours total of two games.

My pick for the mascot is not sandshrew though, my pick is the only one that makes sense: Ditto. All the pokemon, all the moves. Simple.

It already has amiibo integration I know. But I am really into the idea of making the Mario amiibo a little more meaningful in Breath of The Wild, specifically giving link his very own cappy hat so he can cappy jump and dive around Hyrule. I cannot physically imagine anything better than that. It would have durability obviously and would maybe only be a daily use thing but you could have a huge amount of fun with it and it would add so many possibilities.

Oh! oh! oh! Capturing a guardian that puts it under a friendly ai so it follows you around and is your friend and fights for you!

Shopping for a new book yesterday I came across a book on iaido (fancy pants sword art from japan) for 200 pounds sterling GBP. So I checked amazon and got it for 29 instead. Bargain!

Pikachu Libre.  Cute little fella/lady.  Could have some electric effects to her moves too.

Shut down social networks and credit/debit card payments, and watch us isolate ourselves and starve to death.

2018. Not our best year as a human race, but on a personal level, what was awesome in 2018 for you?
The Lady, and Celeste.  That's pretty much it, but there wasn't much awful either.  A rather neutral year.

The "right" answer is probably Toy Day from numerous Animal Crossing games, but back when I played Runescape, they'd always put a lot of work into their seasonal events. Considering I was never brave enough to venture into the PVP areas, snowball fights at Christmas were all I had to take out my frustrations on fellow players.

A big Jigglypuff who sits in the corner and uses Rest a lot.

Much like Luigi in Mario Party, they'll just do nothing and let us destroy ourselves. We're doing a bang up job already!

Not a lot, to be totally honest. 2018 has really sucked. In order to not sound like a total downer, and this is cheating somewhat, but I feel like I've set myself up for a great 2019 what with starting a proper fitness program in DDP Yoga and some other things in the pipeline too. So, December has been good, at least!
