Gears of War

We've got a Halo thread, so why not a Gears one and from the August release thread seems a few of us plan to buy the Ultimate Edition of Gears of War and if you buy the day one edition you also get via backwards compatibly Gears 1, 2 (the best), 3 and Judgement (I've never played) 360 versions.

Which is rather cool for likes of Drunka, not sure why you need Gears 1 in there though and they all will work online but as UE runs like 3 with a few more tweaks that's where the MP will likely be also comes with the MP BETA for Gears of War 4.

Gears 2 is absolutely the best of the bunch. It's quite possibly one of my most played 360 games, now that I think about it.

I've played very little Gears but I've got a friend who's picking it up too so will finally give the series a fair go. The first one which i tried a while a go felt pretty dated so let's hope it's improved enough!

The first one is indeed pretty dated, so I hope the Ultimate Edition alleviates some of those issues.

Preview, seems like Gears 1 still

Looked to see what's coming this pay packet and Ultimate falls with in it with a few other maybes, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to play the campaign of Gears 1 for a fourth time. The main draw to me is the MP as I know people at work and some of you on here might get it, and if you can get a team together it's excellent but even at £25 that seems a bit rich to me just for the MP and I'm not fussed about the 360 versions of Gears 1-3, judgement a little bit as when that came out I was done with the 360.

It's a game I still want but maybe below £20 to make me get it.

Anyone picking up Gear4, reviews and now landing seems its the weakest story but the best multiplayer.

I will definitely pick it up but I'm not in any rush. I still have Gears 3 to play yet!

I'm in almost the same boat as Drunka, except that I've not quite finished 2 and intend to play Judgement.

Now that my co-op buddy has decent internet I'll be breaking them up with Halo, so won't need to grab 4 for a while.

Mine is here, I've got a code for the 360 games, that if anyone does want to go back and play them let me know.

Does it include the original? I wouldn't mind seeing the non-Ultimate version.

Yes it does, I thought the Remaster came with the OG version along with 2, 3 and Judgement?
