No retail games whatsoever, which is good, because I know there are at least two in May that I’d like to get my hands on. As for any other business, I can see myself getting Pitch Perfect 3 because we missed it at the cinema and the series is very funny in places. Also, naturally, Runbow, and the Avengers film.

A nice quiet month for me on the retail side of things, might give the Labo variety kit a try but that's probably about it. Think I'll download Runbow too rather than wait for the retail release.

God of War is a odd one as we've seen it a few times but not really that much from the showings. Press went hands on recently and most seem impressed, I'm hoping that lasts for the 25-30hrs of the game.

First up, this is a brilliant title and the main reason I didn't submit an alternative for this month.
Second up, nothing really there for me (maybe the odd film, maybe an eShop game I've not looked at closely will be good). For all that I talked up Labo, I'm not sure I can actually be bothered to buy and build it, not at full price anyway. I'll likely delve back into the eShop.
Third up, is this the first month without a big Switch game? Not for yer average gamer, anyway: Labo was squarely marketed at little kids, with the bigger kids being an afterthought. I really do feel like I'm in Switch drought territory (if I hadn't absolutely adored Celeste it'd probably feel even worse), but that might just be me, and after the blinding 2017 we had it's not necessarily unjustified - just noticeable. Curious to hear others' thoughts.

It is an odd one and I think I said before I feel much like early PS4 that the indies are dragging the system to the next big game and is that a bad thing? If they're as good as Celeste?
I would have maybe put Hyrule Warriors out this month as it's out in Japan and it's already translated that I don't get why it's coming out almost the same time as Donkey Kong, Dark Souls etc

Yup, it’s definitely a bit drought-y as we speak. I wonder if it’s deliberate, given the sale that’s going on - give us room to breathe, y’know? With Tropical Freeze and Dark Souls Remastered next month, things will rev back up to ‘crazy’ before too long.

Not sure if I count DKCTF as being in the 'crazy' bucket any more. I feel that, unless a port of a last-gen. Nintendo game has some substantial boosts over the original (like MK8D having 5 new characters and a good Battle Mode), after a year those stop counting as 'big games'. Dark Souls is definitely the big one next month for me. ('May-se the Sun!' for next month's title?)

Only Celeste is as good as Celeste, unfortunately. The rest are all right, but I can't say they've successfully kept things from feeling droughty. Where you are right is in saying that every machine goes through them - I think it just comes as more of a shock on Switch, where Nintendo paced things so well in the previous year.

Another quiet month for me, although Yakuza 6 and God of War will be played eventually, whenever that may be...
I do agree with the reasonably quiet times on Switch, but I think a pause for checking out some titles that may have passed us all by is warranted.

If it helps I can't say the PS4 and XB1 seem any less droughty to me with Sea of Thieves being the only big release I can think of in the last couple of months.

That said, Labo's definitely the most interesting thing out this month. Just a shame it's probably not for me.

I've not had a proper look yet but May will be going up on Sunday and includes a bunch of Wii U games to Switch, a PS4 exclusive from David Cage and Xbox also gets what looks like a decent exclusive (can't be worse then Sea of Thieves).
