I don't think you can moan at under £20 for MH4U and I know Jas has put in 200+ hrs on it on the 3DS and loves it, yes a console would be nice but the series does better on handhelds always, Japan hasn't even got 4 on Wii U.

It like Pokemon it's a handheld game it seems with a few odd games coming to consoles.

@The_Jaster Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a lot better for the Wii U than it is with the handheld, so I am not getting MH4 for the handheld should be on the Wii U aswell but Japan cut it off for the Euro/U.S version is outrage for me.

I see what you're saying, I'm more of a console gamer than a handheld one myself and would love 4U to be on wii U but the MH series has always been mostly on handhelds and the way the game is designed I think it makes the most sense on there as it's perfect for quick hunts here and there.

As masofdas points out it's very similar to pokemon in that way, I don't get what you mean by "Japan cut it off for the euro/US version" as there is no wii U version in any region, so let me put it this way Monster Hunter could release on any system even something like the game boy as long as it had that same engaging gameplay I'm more than happy to snap it up and play it.

MH is far, far better on handheld. They've been its home since Freedom, so for practically the entire series.

It's not better by any means. It may be the traditional home but 3U was infinitely better on console, especially considering the lack of the second stick.

You're talking to an avid defender of the monster hunter claw hand here Razz

MH has just always been a local multiplayer game for me. I always played it with a group of friends back at school, and I still know a bunch of people who play it from differing friend groups. Being portable makes it so easy to meet up and do some hunts. The whole setup of the game with the quest structure just works really well in that context.

You also get the streetpass functionality on 3DS that wouldn't happen on console.

It's gone up to £14.95 now, but I figure that's still a pretty good price for what I hear is a pretty nifty game. I have thusly ordered it.
