I saw a Tweet than Grant Kirkhope had written some of the music for this. Then 1.5 seconds into this trailer I can tell.

I'unno about this. It's funny and all that, but... it's just me again isn't it?

Normally I'm merely disinterested in collector's editions, whereas this one is actively discouraging my purchase.
Ehh, might be okay. At least it's been revealed now, so we know Nintendo won't pretend it's a big surprise tomorrow.

Well up for this, always thought the Rabbids have had a bit of an unfair time and both the trailer and the gameplay demo looked pretty ace.

The combat is pure XCOM through and through, and that's no bad thing. I think Ubi will treat the Mushroom Kingdom with enough respect - I'm expecting good things from this!

I had a good feeling about this when I first heard about it and I'm even more confident now. Will be a nice time waster in the run up to Oddysey.

For the rest of us, esp. the single-platform-ers, what is XCOM-bat like?

It's sort of a Fire Emblem style grid on the battlefield where you move your characters about, but the key thing with XCOM is that it's all about being in cover. Half-cover is better than nothing, but setting up your troops behind full cover is key. Attacking involves percentage hit-rates and whatnot. Rabbids seems to be improving on moving around the battlefield as you attack whilst moving before setting up for a proper shot with your blaster. It's a lot of fun, but it really needs to be seen to properly understand!

I think I get it... because it does sound exactly like what I've seen of this! Ah well, X-COM has an ardent fanbase from what I know, so that bodes well.

Seen a few good previews. Everyone seems pretty keen for this. It's looking like it'll sit just below must-buy status.

I am interested in this, but I'm only just thinking I'll have had my fill of ARMS and Spla2n before Double Cross dominates my time and my Switch. Maybe this will be one to pick up a little while down the line and have a later play of?

I'm still really keen for this. I'm impressed by how much passion and heart has gone into this project from the usually corporate and plastic entity that is Ubisoft. Following Grant Kirkhope and the game's director Davide Soliani on Twitter has been a treat over the last few weeks.

Ubisoft really is a company of two halves. Sure, they churn out Assassin's Creeds and Tom Clancys year in year out, but there's also the beating heart that brings you Rayman, Grow Home/ Up, Beyond Good and Evil and now this.

Is it Ubisoft being Ubisoft or Nintendo continuing on from Zelda and Kart etc

Ubisoft has confirmed that Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle will be getting a season pass that includes a variety of DLC.

8 unique steampunk weapons will be available at the launch of the game, each one with its own statistics. These items will be exclusive for season pass owners.
   
This autumn, players will be able to test their skills with new solo challenges, or with a friend, through additional co-op maps.

In 2018, players will be able to play through brand new story content.


I only care about the last one the story content, hopefully can buy on it's own or the pass is well priced like Zelda

I'll not be touching it. In the same way that I'm buying BotW's story content when it comes out and not before. Then again, this is UbiSoft, we can't expect anything else.

To be honest season passes aren't as bad as they used to be in fact most of them are pretty good deals now & this sounds no different to me.
