They've done a feature on it, too: http://www.computerandvideogames.com/461537/features/why-is-playstations-most-prolific-indie-now-backing-wii-u/

I'm not usually a big stealth fan, but I almost feel obliged to give this a shot. Anyone played the original? I don't suppose it was more like RLegends' underwater sections (which I loved) than your average stealth game, was it?

I'd say it was more like them. It's platforming, avoiding lights and cameras and hitting switches. A nice little game, nothing like your MGS's or Splinter Cells.

Super, that's what some chap said on CVG too. "More a puzzler than a stealth game." Sounds good! Grin

Anything by the team behind the Hydroventures is worth keeping an eye on. *keeps an eye on*

Aiming for an October release date. Because it's not like anything else is coming out in October...

This is out on Thursday: any takers?

I recently downloaded the iOS version last week to get a feel for the game, and I am happy with it. The niggles I have with it remind me of Curve's own Hydroventure: Spin Cycle. Stealth Inc splits the game up into distinct chunks, so you get a ranks for performance based on each level, which can make it particularly stressful as you attempt to do as well as possible in order to not finish a level with a C or B rank -- and the perfectionist in me replays each level until I do get a half decent rank.

Stealth Inc 2 seems to be more open world, like the original Hydroventure was, so I expect it to drop this, or at least see the ranking fall to the sidelines until you complete the game.

Cripes, this one's crept up on us! How appropriate. I shall be partaking, swelling my backlog still further.

Wow, Thursday? I'm a taker: as is well documented, a complete sucker for 2D platformers, and Curve do great work. I'll be happy to download this! Grin

Chris Schilling provides some food for thought in his review: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-10-28-stealth-inc-2-a-game-of-clones-review

Many of these issues I have experienced in the first game, to the extent that I stopped playing it after two worlds (great port on iOS though). Not sure if I feel up for the second now...

Just downloaded this - alongside DKC3 and Costume Quest 2 - and it feels ominously like it's going to evolve into one of those 'memorise the level to progress!' platformers which I loathe. That's me judging from a lot of hub and the first actual level, though, so I may be wrong. Always be prepared to be wrong. Grin

Aye, that's my primary issue with how the first game turned out: its puzzles are very meticulous and elaborate, so you end up finding out their solution via trial and error rather than proper smart thinking a lot of the time.

Oh boy. Comparisons to Pullblox's T&E-ness are not welcome. Will still give it a shot, natch.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who seems to find Pullblox relies too much on mindless trial and error. This is why I prefer Fallblox, even if it can get mind bendingly difficult, you have to think about things logically and laterally nearly all the time.

I had a watch of some Stealth Inc. 2 footage and while it does look like a top effort and lovingly made, this isn't what I expected. It seems the same contained test chambers are still in this -- complete with gruelling ranking criteria to meet while you complete them -- and the open world aspects are just a means of accessing these test chambers over a traditional menu.

That's pretty much what the god is a geek review said but I'm still in two minds about it, I welcome a difficult challenge in games even if it is through trial and error but the thing that is stopping me is I have enough games to be getting on with then there's a little thing called shovel Knight in November.

Yeah, unless you really get into the game I wouldn't bother. After good first impressions I quickly became tired of the original Stealth Inc. (just after the second world).

I do appreciate how well designed each level is in terms of how it all plays out, though, but it's not for me. I should probably finish Hydroventure Spin Cycle instead!

Stealth Inc. 2 has got its claws into me again after what was supposed to be a quick play last night. I am loving it: the challenge is well-pitched and experimentation is encouraged. It's not quite as trial-and-error as has been suggested (for me, at least): a puzzle will usually bend to my will with a little thought.

Are there any other takers out there?
