Facial recognition and Mii

Today I got myself a shiny 3DS, and naturally one of the first things I did was make a Mii. So, I decided to try and see if the 3DS could accurately recognise my face and express it as a Mii. The results were... less than satisfactory.



Upon seeing sleep deprived James up there, I had an idea for a thread - take a picture of yourself and see what the 3DS decides you look like, and then post the result here!

(Yes, I know this was probably something that you all did two years ago, but humour me here!)

Nice thread idea. I'm typing this while I'm in the middle of setting it up, and just want to say that I love that Mii Maker music.

I'm loving the fact that it decided Cappa opening his mouth equals to a massive conk. Cracking.

The 3DS clearly just doesn't like beards - first Brian, now Jas.

As my tweet on the subject says, after five failed attempts, I removed my glasses...

Yeah, I had to take mine off in order for it to work - it doesn't seem to handle beards nor glasses very well. It's hilarious to see the outcomes though! I had my Dad try it and it gave him a Mii comprised of 80% forehead.

This video shows the same but with the Wii U camera.

I'll get picture later, but I've got a mate who stick with his Mii from Wii us camera because although it looks ridiculous, it captures the essence of him perfectly.

Yeah, I think Nintendo expects you to pull a passport photo face when getting the Mii treatment.

By the by, can we shrink down your head in that last picture and replace this  emoticon with it?
