Okay that's mean, and if you're a 'racing line person' then maybe there's still some benefit to them. Even then though, the original Super Mario Kart exists for people who want that. I feel like adding some rolling terrain is the minimum we ought to be seeing here.

I just like having some flat throwback tracks in there & we have like about 3 or 4 of them total? Apart from adding an anti-grav section like GBA Mario circuit I don't see what else they could do without stepping on the toes of the original design or getting to the point where they may as well make something completely new.

I don't see anything wrong with a bit of antigrav.

I don't either but I'm not going to gripe if it isn't there either.

For me it doesn't help that the entire Booster Pack so far has felt a leetle bit low effort. Which is what comes from importing courses straight from Tour, natch - but a straight unedited copy of a SNES track doesn't feel like an attempt to include a good racing line track (i.e. boredom) to appeal to the purists, it feels like the nadir of low effort importing.

Still, I'll just ignore it, and hopefully the all-new course is better!

The news about Wave 2 completely passed me by until seeing this thread. I'd very much enjoy kicking one and all's arses at these new tracks online sometime soon.

I have to admit the SNES track was the one I was least interested in seeing the trailer, but I'm sure it'll be alright for a race or two. The rest of them look like great fun and I am of course keen for another two sessions on this before we inevitably forget about Mario Kart until Wave 3 drops.

Feel they should tinker with the SNES tracks and give them new paths, maybe wider corners around the outside of existing ones but with an added booster so that you don't lose out by going wider. I like what they've done with Kalimari Desert, they're letting us older players do what we always wanted to and race through the train tunnel. Great variation on a classic.

It's too late Cappa.  We've taken over a corner in the pub.  Soon, our negativity will spread.  (Also: we're going to sit in here for like three hours and only order two soft drinks apiece.)

I for one want an all-SNES wave. 4 lots of Vanilla Lake 1. You know you love hitting stuff and stopping all the time.

I’ve not been involved in any big ol’ sessions, but I’d play if something can be organised.

I’ve only played each Wave 2 track the once, winning both the new cups in single player. I think they’re all rightish. They mostly feel like obscure Mario Kart b-sides, and a couple play like a scrappy unfinished demo rather than an album-quality track. Still, more content to one of my favourite games of all time isn’t a bad thing, and they certainly don’t diminish what’s already here.

I'll arrange something for next week on the discord. It's been a busy couple of weeks so hasn't been a good window to try it yet, but next week is looking very quiet.

I believe the plan is to get some MK8D on the go tonight, correct?

I'm planning an early night tonight especially!
