Apologies if there's already a topic of this - I couldn't find one - but from out of nowhere Nintendo of Europe have held a Direct presentation which announces the localisation of this for June 6th. Have a swatch if you haven't already:
Looks a good laugh. Could this be the next Animal Crossing? What's everybody's impressions from what they've seen?

I'm told that it's more than a little bit special, so yes, I probably will be picking this up. Looks like I need to re-create my "Great Dictators Parade" on my XL...
EDIT: Here's the Direct in full: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5lQIoUK4SLI It's genuinely hilarious.

I love how absolutely bonkers this looks, I was laughing quite a lot during that mini direct.

Wow. I laughed so hard during the Iwata / Samus love triangle.
Also, in amazing WTF?! news (I swear I didn't make this up), Christina Aguilera has just been confrimed as a celebrity Mii in the American version.

Didn't one of the podcasts have the question "F**k marry kill - Reggie Iwata Shibata"? That seems awfully prophetic right now...

Think we'll be needing to get QR codes up for our Miis before this launches. I think I've got some from back in the day like Stu, Rum, andyman, Jaster and "Classic" Dusty, but I - like probably most of you - am wanting the full GNamer family.

A Mii QR sharing thread might be a good idea.

In true Blue Peter style, Axis, 'here's one I made earlier': http://forums.computerandvideogames.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=123635
We can update that, of course. Personally, I was properly gutted when I learnt that that's not what Dusty actually looks like.

Definitely accolades to hang your hat on, and certainly material that goes top of the CV. I'd like to offer you the job of President of GNamer.

How many issues of NGamer could that trailer alone have filled? Bloody amazing.

I know its not an english word but the title appears to be misspelled. (It should be Tomodachi)

I cannot bleddy wait for this. A few years ago (10, actually... shit) I found myself playing the Sims a lot; not so much enjoying relationships, but getting the hang of getting them through the day - life optimisation. That shouldn't be the exciting bit about the Sims, I realise - but that's because Maxis spent too much time trying to make a sort-of-realistic life simulation. To paraphrase Gandalf - this is the Sims... as it should have been.

I just watched the American Direct, and I think perhaps my favourite moment was when Bill Trinen was talking about how Miis have different hobbies, and it cut to his one, rolling around on the floor. One of my favourite hobbies for sure.

From Nintendo's FB.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is some hint of VB games appearing on 3DS.

That is in serious danger of becoming a maymay. Or at least a forced maymay.

If they release this at a cheaper price I'm all over it. If not, I'll be all over it just after everyone's stopped playing it and the whole experience'll feel a bit shallow.

I'm not a fan of digital retail games, but I'll probably get this one boxless. Having AC:NL on my system constantly was really handy, and I can see this being the same.
