My stash of Beanie Babies stays though.

I had a bit of decision dilemma with my Amiibo as they take up a bit of space and would get me a fair bit of money but they're still here, too attached to them for now.

After the money I've spent on the amiibo - coupled with the fact that I like having Nintendo figures displayed on my shelves - they get to stay.

I'm being buried with my Amiibo.

I'm leaving my Lucas amiibo in my will.

Woollyybo Yoshiibo is basically my son.

I never went in for Amiibo but I did surrender the entirety of my kitchen table to Pokemon cards a few months ago and haven't looked back since.

I've still got binders full of Pokémon cards squirrelled away in a cupboard somewhere from the late 90s/early 00s. I wonder if they'd be worth anything...?

Sold mine a few years ago, got okay money for them but I guess now with the boom of Go etc they might be better now than then.

UK didn't really get the high value print runs of cards (Shadowless / 1st Edition base set), and they need to be in immaculate condition to be worth a lot. Always worth a look though!

They should be in good condition considering they've been in plastic sheets in binders for about 15 years. I doubt I've anything remotely rare, though.

You play them properly, don't you? Proper competitive meets, regional qualifiers and that.

Sorry, this is a bit braggy: I got a promotion!

Upside: More sway and influence, a snazzier e-mail signature, and room for the company to hire one or two more people to do what I'm doing and mentor them; my team gets their own office room.

Downside: I have no idea how to do anything manager-y, am worried I'll become "a manager" if you know what I mean, I'm knackered from having to put together many office chairs, it was nice in the other room as it was much bigger and there were lots of people to talk to and I'm worried I'll have to be the source of entertainment / encouragement. I can't organise a piss-up in a brewery. I'm very very very very very very very very tired, which probably explains my ungrateful World Cup Sweepstake Victory to a certain extent.

Congratulations Jimbo! I'm sure you'll be a great manager. I've never met you in person, but from our online interactions you've always seemed like a lovely chap who tries his hardest, rather than a control freak, or somebody with a collection of chips on his shoulders.

Not saying it won't be stressful at times, but hopefully it'll be worth it. Good luck!

Seconding Balla's thoughts - the new role will no doubt come with its own new set of challenges but you're the right man for the job in your work's eyes, so no doubt you'll have the skills to pay the bills, as they say.

That's fair enough - I am scum.

Although to clarify, I still have to do work myself, I just also have to make sure other people have also got work to do. And sign their holiday forms. So only a bit scum.

I spent some time earlier on going through old threads that I've posted in to see what nonsense the Jay of 2014 was saying. It's interesting having the forum span back 6+ years - it's almost like a time capsule of sorts to see what was going on back then. A perk of a smaller and quieter forum, I suppose.

I love doing that! It happens most often when I resurrect an old thread. Online-Balla hasn't changed overly much in six years, actually: not sure if that's good or depressing.

Ha, really? I'd leave what I'd said in the past - if it's something I'd disagree with nowadays, then I've grown as a person. No need to hide the past and self-censor, I'd say.

For the most part I can just laugh about it, but I said some real dumb shit about feminism in the early pages of the Dear Daisy thread and it just made my skin crawl too much.
