Future launching new Pokemon Magazine...

So Future ditches Nintendo Gamer & launches a Pokemon magazine. Hhmm...

Official Pokémon Magazine will be edited by Future's editor in chief of Nintendo projects, Chandra Nair.

Lee Nutter, group publisher for Future's Entertainment Group, said: "Pokémon has never been bigger and more relevant than it is today and the magazine will serve as the voice for its UK audience."

Not only is it official, it's edited by my least favourite Nintendo journalist of the moment. The thought that they got rid of Nintendo Gamer for this makes me rage inwardly.

I guess it's to be a rival to Pocket World, which has been out for much much longer and already has an established fanbase.

There are 649 of the buggers. Not to mention TV shows, new Pokemon games coming out, old Pokemon games that the intended market won't have played... It won't be a hard write-up, just a lazy one.

They could serialise the manga- that'd ensure an amount of repeat sales.

...I'd consider buying it then. The manga's pretty damn good.

I did not know they were that cheap! Well, there you go. Still, it's definitely an incentive if they do that. But it's highly unlikely they will.

For real though, it's nothing more than a lazy cash grab for Future.
