The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be available in the UK within two weeks of each other, if a set of leaked dates from retailer Toys'R'Us are to be believed, reports that Xbox One will be available in Britain on November 29, while the PlayStation 4 will arrive on December 13.

When Toys'R'Us was contacted for comment about whether these were simply placeholder dates or if they had a factual basis, a spokesperson replied, "I can confirm this information has been given direct from our suppliers and is accurate."

Following this, Microsoft released the following clarification: "We have announced that Xbox One will launch this November, but have not shared any further details. It’s common practice for retailers to use placeholder dates for pre-order items without an official launch date. Please stay tuned to news.xbox.com, where we share the latest official details about all things Xbox One."

December 13th seems a bit late to me, and there was that leaked advertising from Holland saying PS4 November 13. So I don't if people are thinking 13th is the date but it's actually the year.

13th of Dec does seem too late, but they are just closing a preorder day one guarantee off so I guess they're not looking for Christmas present sales.

The UK software charts have had their weekly update, and it's a case of mixed news for Nintendo. The overwhelming positive is that Animal Crossing: New Leaf has moved up one position to third with no drop in sales from last week; it's showing impressive momentum.

There is disappointment from a Wii U perspective, however, with Pikmin 3 sales dipping, resulting in a drop from its debut position in second place to 15th this week, which seems like a sharp loss of momentum. New Super Luigi U, which did release as DLC first time around, has dropped away to 37th place.

There were some more positives for the 3DS, however, as Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. came in 11th place, showing decent momentum for a franchise that isn't typically a blockbuster at retailers. Elsewhere we have Luigi's Mansion 2 in 21st place, while LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins and Mario Kart 7 are in 28th and 31st places respectively.

The 3DS continues its decent momentum in the UK, but Pikmin 3's fall out of the top 10 in its second week reflects a smaller Wii U userbase and the fact that, perhaps, it's not shifting substantial numbers on its own. As more games release Nintendo will no doubt hope for a cumulative effect of multiple quality games on shelves driving hardware sales, but it's disappointing nevertheless.

This is pretty accurate. Sales just bore me - where's the gushing about how glorious games are, opposed to how many units they've sold this quarter?

More news about XBone, Both Microsoft USA & Canada websites has Call Of Duty Ghosts launching on the 5th of November for Xbone which is officially a launch title. So is north America at least getting Xbone on the 5th.

Multiple UK retailers say they can no longer guarantee a new PS4 on release day for those who place new pre-orders.

As CVG revealed in July, PS4 pre-orders placed after Monday August 5 may be not be fulfilled on release day. Retail outlets have now begun informing consumers that Sony has informed them it can't guarantee to meet day-one demand for the console.

Time to prove once again that ducks have no place in business: Why can't sony just make more consoles? Like, build factories in India and stuff. :homer:

Amazon are rumored to be bringing out there own Android based console for Xmas, I'm to bothered about all these android based systems but amazon being a much bigger company then ouya etc can see them actually being able to actually sell a ton of them with there better infrastructure.

Seeing as they can splash it all over the front page of their, I understand, rather popular website, Amazon might do well with an Android-based console. Personally struggling to see where the gap in the market is for the Ouya/Gamestick/potential Amazon thingy, mind.

So last night, it was confirmed by microsoft that the kinect is no longer mandatory. At the moment there is still only one SKU which is the £430 one.

Now that it no longer needs kinect I'm personally hoping they announce a new SKU without kinect at a cheaper price, rumors on the internet and even everyone's favorite analyst pachter reckon the kinect costs all most the same to make as the console. So they could drop below the PS4 and actually make more money.

If that all happens I could see myself jumping ship to the xbone as every single thing has been changed that annoyed me about the xbone has been corrected apart from the price. Only thing that I'm also not sure on is MS haven't had much convenience in there product, i know what they've done has been for the better but they could change back at anytime or do something stupid part way through it's cycle.

This is what I have preordered (won't but it all) for PS4, Console Bundle with Killzone, Drive/Club then Knack, Watch Dog's, FIFA 14, COD: Ghosts, Battlefield 4 and a extra controller.

If the xbone does have a new cheaper SKU, then i would preorder (wouldn't buy it all) it, Battlefield 4, COD: Ghosts, Crimson Dragon, Dead Rising 3, FIFA 14, FORZA 5, Quantum Break, Ryse, Wtach Dog's and Killer Instinct in some form. So quite a bit more I would be tempted to get on a xbone over PS4.

£430, for Christ's sake. I'd be wanting a Nintendo for that.

Nah, I knew the price, it's just a complete scadge, is all.

To me it's to expensive because of the kinect (which I'm not bothered about) which prices me out of one and makes me look at the PS4 as my next gen console of choice. The PS4 is priced fairly at £350 and can't see why the xbox one cant be less then that without kinect like £325 if it was that then it's a great price, as i said in a few posts back there more games i want to play (launch wise) that appeal to me on xbox one then PS4 but it's all about value for money which the PS4 is at the moment. Only thing that would make me buy a xbox one for £430 at launch if Halo 5 was confirmed as a launch title or window (Nov-March or something like that).

I doubt i would pay £430 for a nintendo console, as it's just play nintendo games and that's alot of money to play only a few games a year on a machine.

£430 is steep, and it'll harm them at launch. Remember when the PS3 launched at £400+? Total flop. PS4 is pretty reasonably priced for a next-gen console, as you said.

I bought a PS3 at launch (kinda), but didn't help the price of it , eventually price cuts etc and quality software (like the 3DS aswell) , launched it into 2nd place with worldwide sales this gen.

I couldn't imagine paying full-whack for a console these days. Everything I've bought since the GameCube has been paid for with trade ins, and everything since the original DS has been paid for through trade-ins with games bought cheap and sold for more. I can't imagine my £300 Wii U cost me more than £225 in 'real' money. I miss HMV's stupidly high trade-in prices

I'm selling my PS3 to buy my PS4, I traded in my 360 for Wii U. Unfortunately I will eventually get both a ps4 and a xbone so one of them I will have to pay cash for.

The Xbox One will no longer be launching in 21 countries this year, now it will be only 13 (Includes UK) with the other 8 being early 2014 (sorry Belgium) and tier 2 counties being pushed back further again but know one in japan cared any way.

Also Major Nelson, Has said there still 100% behind kinect and there won't be a SKU without it. So PS4 for me still it is then, and waiting for a xbox one price drop / cheap used one later down the line.

Are any of the countries stricken from the list by any chance Australia? *Crosses fingers no doubt in vain*
