Incidentally, I noticed that the contrast on the XL model is vastly superior to the smaller New 3DS, which is disappointing. It seems like we've got another DSi/DSi XL situation where the larger model has the better screens by far, and the price differential is relatively small. I prefer the smaller screens, but have gone with the XL just to have better colour reproduction. I hope the speakers are good. Oh so you have decided to go ahead and get one |

| My New 3DS came this evening. Having the C stick is taking a bit of getting used to. But the addition 3d angles and better looking screen is a great upgrade from my day 1 Aqua Blue 3DS.
...now, which cover plates should I get?... |

| How much were that 365games place selling it for? They don't seem to have a price up on the site any more. |

They just went back in stock for sale again, but at £5 dearer. So the New XL is £175 instead of £170, and I'd imagine the New 3DS would be around £155. |

| It is mighty tempting to order one but knowing my luck I'd buy it then they'd announce an MH4U bundle for Europe, not playing a whole lot 3ds wise either so I can't justify getting one for it just to sit there untouched. |

| I'd probably wait for Monster Hunter Jaster, yeah. Had I not been so excited about Persona Q and Pokemon I'd probably have passed on it.
I really like the New 3DS XL, I'll post some thoughts up later. But this is the best "incremental" hardware upgrade ever in my eyes, up there with Game Boy to Game Boy Color. |

| Any news on when SSB4 will get a patch for Amiibo support? Having a new 3ds and a Villager Amiibo is little fun at the moment. |

| I'd certainly recommend it, especially if you're actively using your 3DS for stuff like Shovel Knight, Persona Q, Pokemon and so on. Everything about the new system's better, even the speakers on the New XL are almost back up to the standard of the original 3DS. |

| I'm not a fan of what Nintendo's doing here at all. Ninty has never split its userbase within a console generation before (unless you count the DSiWare Store on the DSi (which I don't)). It's great for folk such as Zero who've worn their launch 3DS units out, but for such as myself and Jay who have relatively new 3DS XLs, I can't personally justify one.
Is this Nintendo's stopgap before the next generation and the overall games are already drying up, or have original 3DS owners just been shafted? I can't really understand the mentality.
Also: how much of a marketing headaches is the 'New 3DS' moniker? |

| DSi did get retail games (a whole 4) and some that used the extra power like pokemon.
So there has been a bit of divide before, it's just how many are just for the New 3DS if it's just a odd 4 then it's not really a problem but if it's a lot which it might be especially when we know something as big as xenoblade is coming and how well they've been selling Japan others might follow suit and use the extra power and the game only for New 3DS.
I do think it's a stopgap myself in-till we get the next handheld in 2016 and the name is stupid on the New 3DS.
Good to see you Stu |

All those games worked on any DS, though, which is why I didn't bring that one up. Face Training was the exception I think, but really, does anyone even remember that one? (And thanks ) I do hope that those who've taken a punt are enjoying their consoles, though. I've reached a point where I can't really justify such extravagant purchases for so little use. My 3DS XL and its library gets attention enough from me. |

| Is it not just Xenoblade so far that is exclusive to it? I really don't think we will see many games, I reckon it'll mostly be the help keep the system running smooth and the incorporate the second stick. |

| No there was 4 that used the camera that the DS didn't have
I brought pokemon as it worked on DS but also took advantage of DSi that's what some titles like Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will do work on a 3DS but if you got N3DS your going have something that uses it extras.
I'm still kinda on the fence as I will but games that will use the extras but would also work on a 3DS and I would like to pick up likes of xenoblade up which I need a New 3DS for. |

Without Googling it, I honestly couldn't list them. I do recall one DSiWare game where you photographed yourself in a beat 'em up, though. andyman: If Xeno is the only exclusive (thus far), that almost makes it worse. Exec One: "How can we make people buy this thing?"Exec Two: "Chuck a faster processor in there, and get Monolith on the phone."Exec One: "Brill! ... Shall we grab a coffee?" |

| Yeah it does as I wanted to play so I've got to get a New 3DS but in the Australian Direct they do say something this is the first exclusive game for New 3DS when they showed of Xeno and more to follow. |

| I think that Xenoblade and Monster hunter are games of such a high quality that I'd buy the system just for those two. Two of my favorite games of all time right there.

| So did everyone get there emails this morning from Nintendo, with the opportunity to buy a New Nintendo 3DS Ambassador Edition Bundle for £179.99 right now before they go on general sell which must be soon.
I'm going to wait for a XL myself but that might be come a rare version though. |
