| A false pleasantry, maybe, but I would argue that it can improve the experience. Sure, it's annoying when a shop assistant or whoever goes "hello, how are you, having a nice day, oh it's been chilly hasn't it, doopy doo" but if they actually engage you in conversation it's quite nice. Speaking as someone who's had a bunch of customer-facing roles, it's usually immediately obvious when someone isn't receptive to a conversation and then I wouldn't bother pursuing it.
Also I quite like YouTube's new layout because it makes it a lot easier to navigate playlists.

I wouldn't hesitate to ask any of you lot the same, because I'd be genuinely interested to know how you're getting on. I do agree with you that it's a bit of a false pleasantry when shop attendants and so on ask.
Oh I don't have a problem with acquaintances and friends asking each other that, it's just the insistence in our culture to ask that as a greeting to complete strangers that grinds my gears. |

| I actually give proper answers to people who ask me that. Sometimes they're made to stand there waiting while I think - serves 'em right for asking such a difficult question when I'm not expecting it. I mean, how are any of us really? |

| I've come close to doing that a few times as well, but I always end up sparing them the downer and just lie with the answer they want. Edit: And I'll add that I'm seriously sick and tired of anything shopping related here. I'm plain sick and tired of how stores here charge huge prices for products, and said products are either utterly awful quality or utterly awful selection, or both. The funny part of it all is the smaller the store or company the more likely the product is good and reasonably priced, but for anything major? Forget it. |

| I often use that (or the Manc equivalent "y'alright") as a conversation starter and I definitely mean it in a sincere way, it might not be the most elegant but obviously I do care otherwise I wouldn't ask. |

| Trouble is, lots of people ask it when they don't actually care. It's fine if you do, of course. |

| I'm normally too dense to work out when it's being asked sincerely as I generally use alright as a hello. It's led to abrupt finishes to small talk on several occasions. |

| People who open a fucking multipack on the shelf, take out some of the individual products and take them to a till. There are two ways they then act; they feign ignorance, like they didn't realise that's NOT HOW IT WORKS or they just insist you make an exception in their case. Either way I thoroughly enjoy not letting them get away with it but it does physically hurt having to hold back all my rage. I just want to punch their stupid old faces over and over until not even their spouse of sixty years recognises that this is a human face they're looking at rather than a child's abstract painting that used an open watermelon as a canvas. Fucking stupid selfish stuck up ignorant cunts. |

Despite my earlier post, this is exactly how I felt last night. My counterstrategy is to come on here and yell about it until people tell me to shut up. I BEAT BOPOPOLIS GOD DAMN IT.

| 3rd party DRM is what's irking me as of late. I came home from uni yesterday, and decided - "Aye, I'll play a bit of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, why not?" So I load up Steam, launch Brotherhood, which launches through UPlay. That's not a problem - normally. Today I found out that if Ubi's servers are down, I can't play my game. I can't set it to an offline mode without doing so from being online in the first place, I can't bypass UPlay... I just straight up couldn't play it.
I've always had the viewpoint that if games publishers allow consumers to easily access and play their games without much fuss, then piracy isn't going to be a huge issue. It's things like always online DRM that turn people to piracy in the first place. |

| The Taxman, I got my bonus today when I saw my bank-statement this morning thought that's not right. When I got my payslip I got more then I thought then I saw what I paid in Tax, what's the point of getting a bonus if your not getting much of it. |

| I can see your point. They definitely look like the sort of people who will absolutely look out for the little man, really put themselves on the line. I expect they actually hate their own wealth and just want to make that divide smaller. |

| No, modern Labour is just Tory-lite. We need a newer, more actively socialist party. I always vote green these days. |

| Voting for the Green Party is a waste of a vote though. They might be the best for you but not enough will vote for them to make a difference. |

| Yeah, but I'm also voicing my disapproval of other people and encouraging the other parties to adopt green policies so as to get my vote. There no such thing as a wasted vote, mate, unless you don't vote at all. |
