Ah, I see. I've always wanted to go to one of these anime conventions, but alas travelling isn't for me all that feasible. Well, hope everyone going has fun.

Somebody described today as "National Patronise an 18-Year-Old Day".  That just about covers it.  Does this effect your protegés, Zero?

From my perspective, most of the day is spent advising on the future or trying to get students to universities if their grades were not up to scratch. There is a terrible sense of being on a hiding to nothing during A-Level results days, though - a number of the students in my care underperformed (although the AS Further Maths students ended up getting exactly what I thought they would).

Roll on Thursday, when GCSE results are released!

In other news, this is a nice antidote to all the gloomy stories about Egyptian deaths and Russian homophobia.

In many ways it's a really obvious choice. Given the current continuity I was hoping for it to be Joseph Gordon-Levitt (even though I know it wouldn't work too well)... still, fingers crossed for an improvement on Man Of Steel (or When Buildings Collapse, as I like to call it).

I do honestly think its not a bad idea having him as Batman as there could be worse choices

So it seems that we're headed to a war with Syria. Whilst the use of chemical weapons is reprehensible, I can't help but feel we're treading old ground.

It would be nice if our Prime Minister waited for the UN to say something this time, before charging in all gung-ho like.

If Daddy America says go, we go. Honestly, whilst I'm sickened by what happened in Syria, you're right in saying we should be waiting for the UN to do something. A chap by the name of Hans Blix said on Huffington Post that "America is not the world police", and he's totally right.

I don't think their representation of Middle-Easterns was entirely accurate.

If that isn't how the middle eastern people are then I don't want to go to the middle east.

Commons vote to reject military action in Syria.

That surprises and delights me. You must feel sorry for the people on whom the weapons were used, of course, and I'm happy that the US is doing something about it... but I'm far happier that none of our brave men and women will be in the firing line.

I would actually like to see some military action taken, but I'd like to see it following a UN resolution to do so.

So it seems that 2013 is the year of drug scandals for the non boring sports like AFL and NRL (well NRL aint that great), with the whole Essedon "scandal" nearly done.
