| Preaching to the choir here, mate. I bought the amiibo. I don't even know if they'll work with the game as they're imported. |

| Ah, I missed that. Nice one! My purchase is not purely to look at Monster Hunter figures then. |

| And it's arrived! Played a fair wee chunk last night and I've got myself a Red Khezu and a Zamtrios now! This is still a lot of fun. |

| Introducing my pale, black-haired heroine... Saturday. Who is definitely not an expy of anyone at all. (cough)
Powerful beginning innit? Bit more Xenoblade(playitJay) than Pokémon. Suppose it's too much to hope that it'll make my 'mates' any less irritating?
EDIT: I got a Velocidrom. Pokémon need have no fear for competition on the design front. |

| Velocidrome is literally the most boring design in the whole series. It's a blue dinosaur. The better monsters are to come!
Your mates - not counting Navirou - have barely turned up in what I've played so far. |

| Oh. I am... so glad there's plenty more Navirou to come. So, so glad. ...yeah, thus far the characters haven't really rubbed me up the right way. Still, defeated the first boss... - Spoiler:
...dunno what all the kerfuffle was about, Nargacugas seems pretty simple to me!

| I find it interesting you have found the characters annoying thus far given the anime approach this game takes, as you know I'm not into anime much at all but I've found the characters to be perfectly fine & I even said that after playing the demo that they still had that classic Monster Hunter charm to them. |

| I regard them as being a bit like the friends in Pokémon Gen VI... though the MHS ones bother you a bit less and so are a touch less annoying. |

| Your mates are very much like the XY 'buddies', and I loathed them. (Trevor was alright - because he was quiet.) Thus far I've found Navirou intolerable, Dan unbearable, the Chief's gimmick insufferable, Lillie Lilia unendurable, and Cheval... alright actually, but that's because they started off by gut-punching him. I've not seen anything I would describe as 'charm' apart from the graphics, which are glorious. On the plus side, I just got my second egg! - I got...:
A FRIGGIN' APTONOTH If I hadn't spent the time prior to hatching that thing exploring for ages, I would have reset. Stupid bastard useless dumpy hippo thing.

| I'm pretty certain it gates the type of monsters you can pick up in the beginning area, anyhow I love my Aptonoth (who I named Alexander) and I like how they're giving a monster that is typically just fodder for the hunter or big monsters in the main series some of the spotlight. Oh and their Kinship special move is the best one I've seen so far. |

| I mean, it's got a better design than chuffing wattleboy. Maybe I'll grow to love it. But it does move slower than a Slowpoke with three broken legs coming back from a discount sale on 10kg weights.
It's called Hippothing. My Velocidrom [sic] is called Dragonthin [sic]. I have my naming convention. |

Ricard the Red Khezu Peter the Lagombi Shelob the Nerscylla Big Zam the Zamtrios The Heid the Cephadrome

| The good thing about puns is when they're spontaneous, and/or when people groan at them. Without either of those two in game, Nyavirou's dialogue seems - or seemed, he seems to be looking up slightly since I entered the forest - a bit bobbins. - Third monster:
Teddy! All is forgiven, this is great design. I love her already. Best monster.

Is that an Arzuros you've nabbed?

| The amiibo arrived! - Spoiler:
I had a moment of thinking about keeping them in the packaging if they end up being worth a bit being import amiibo and all, but then I realised that I want to actually use them rather than just look at them. |
